Catching Up Again

Well it's been over a month since my last post. It's been busy since then!! I haven't had a lot of extra crochet time but will post what I have done. I am also back in school (Astronomy this time) how fun. Still haven't found a new job. We've starting working out at least 3 times a week at the YMCA. Got a puppy and took it back to the pound already (we were not ready for the puppy). Have lost my cat twice. One of the hamsters had a stroke and is now blind. We are building a house (can't wait for it to get over with), which should be ready to move into in July. And Garrick starts swim lessons tonight at the Y.

As for crochet, here are the projects I finished and managed to take pictures of:

This is a three-piece felt set I made for a co-worker. I used Lion Wool and Bernat Bling Bling using a pattern I was testing for a Cville member:

A Poncho I made for another co-worker. It is made out of Lion Chunky USA and following this pattern from Lion :

Three hats I made for my Hat CAL (Weeks 6, 7, and 8):

Purses for the Spring Purse Swap at Cville:

And finally the Granny Square I will be sending to my April Swap partner:

On the receiving end, I received some super cool goodies and the most awesome tote every from my Spring Purse swap partner (dhuane):

And a beautiful blue Square from my March Granny Square partner:

Well that gets everyone caught up until my next installment!

Winter doldrums

I've been extrmely busy and have barely had any time to crochet. Everyone in the house has been sick, the little one has been extremely hyper due to being stuck inside all day everyday, and I've been job hunting.

In the end, I managed to make one more purse (which I shipped without taking a picture of). I also finally finished Susie's baby blanket last night.

Now I'm trying to finish up a felted set I'm testing for Donna. I was supposed to be done March 1, but am still working away.

So far in February

Life has been keeping me so busy I haven't had much of a chance to update my blog or even crochet much. I'm still working on Suzie's blankets, I've started Dianne's poncho, and have lots of other projects on the side.

I also finished my February square for my swap, but couldn't find the digital camera to take a picture. Grrrr!

Anyway, I also finished my Week 5 hat for my CAL:

Mom really likes this one! I used this pattern and Homepsun.

I also finished my first Spring Purse for my swap.

I used this pattern which is now definitely my all time favorite purse pattern! I made it out of 1 skein of Patons Classic Merino Wool.

And more hats

I made the last two hats for my swap partner last weekend. Since then I've added a few rows on Suzie's baby blanket and been searching for the next pattern I want to use for my February square!

Here are the hats:

A breather

Well I have finally finished my ACC 422 class with UOP and if I'm lucky it will be the last class I ever have with them. I am also now using my sleep machine at night to help with the apnea. I'm not sure if I'm really feeling a difference yet, but it's only been a few days so hopefully it will help. I also had an interview on Thursday and it seemed to go well. I go back next week for round 2.

As for my crochet, well I have barely touched my hooks all week and intend to make up for lost time in the next two days!! I want to finish the small hat for my swap partner's son and make her one more for her package.

Speaking of packages....yesterday was terrific! I got three packages in the mail yesterday! The first was my package from my Winter Hat Swap partner! I got two awesome hats!!

The second was my package from my Winter Wool partner. She made me some lovely hand-dyed wool and some laceweight wool which I've never used before! (Plus some Burt's Bees Lip gloss).

I absolutely loved the colors of the dyed wool! I'm simply amazed at how wonderful of a job she did!

The third package was my first set of books from Crafter's choice. It contained "Felted Crochet", "Fast Knits Fat Needles", "Ready Set Crochet", "Quick Crochet Huge Hooks", "Hip to Crochet", and Michael's Giant book of Needlecrafts.

Hats, hats, and more hats!

I've been busy with hats all weekend. I've made another hat which is doing double duty for my "hat-a-week" CAL and for my Hat Swap.

Plus I've made two more hats for my Swap's two daughters!

Now I just have one or two more hats to make and I'll be ready to send my package to my Swap partner!

Catch Up

It's been kind of crazy lately so I haven't had time to post. I have managed to finish one more hat and get some ribbon to try and thread through another hat for my swap partner to see if she can get it to work and to wear it. Garrick modeled them for me:

I have also made a little purse for my niece that I think is adorable! Hopefully she likes it too!

The best is that on Friday I received my Holiday Exchange package from AshEgypt and it is terrific (as I knew it would be)!

I definitely have to get a yarn winder now!! I love how the yarn looked after she wound it! She also remembered how much I loved Bohemian yarn and sent me two balls of it!!! She's so terrific! Plus she sent me the first book in the Amelia Peabody series. I have read and re-read most of these books and I had been considering buying them as I keep checking them out from the library, so this was an absolutely perfect gift!!
