And more hats

I made the last two hats for my swap partner last weekend. Since then I've added a few rows on Suzie's baby blanket and been searching for the next pattern I want to use for my February square!

Here are the hats:

A breather

Well I have finally finished my ACC 422 class with UOP and if I'm lucky it will be the last class I ever have with them. I am also now using my sleep machine at night to help with the apnea. I'm not sure if I'm really feeling a difference yet, but it's only been a few days so hopefully it will help. I also had an interview on Thursday and it seemed to go well. I go back next week for round 2.

As for my crochet, well I have barely touched my hooks all week and intend to make up for lost time in the next two days!! I want to finish the small hat for my swap partner's son and make her one more for her package.

Speaking of packages....yesterday was terrific! I got three packages in the mail yesterday! The first was my package from my Winter Hat Swap partner! I got two awesome hats!!

The second was my package from my Winter Wool partner. She made me some lovely hand-dyed wool and some laceweight wool which I've never used before! (Plus some Burt's Bees Lip gloss).

I absolutely loved the colors of the dyed wool! I'm simply amazed at how wonderful of a job she did!

The third package was my first set of books from Crafter's choice. It contained "Felted Crochet", "Fast Knits Fat Needles", "Ready Set Crochet", "Quick Crochet Huge Hooks", "Hip to Crochet", and Michael's Giant book of Needlecrafts.

Hats, hats, and more hats!

I've been busy with hats all weekend. I've made another hat which is doing double duty for my "hat-a-week" CAL and for my Hat Swap.

Plus I've made two more hats for my Swap's two daughters!

Now I just have one or two more hats to make and I'll be ready to send my package to my Swap partner!

Catch Up

It's been kind of crazy lately so I haven't had time to post. I have managed to finish one more hat and get some ribbon to try and thread through another hat for my swap partner to see if she can get it to work and to wear it. Garrick modeled them for me:

I have also made a little purse for my niece that I think is adorable! Hopefully she likes it too!

The best is that on Friday I received my Holiday Exchange package from AshEgypt and it is terrific (as I knew it would be)!

I definitely have to get a yarn winder now!! I love how the yarn looked after she wound it! She also remembered how much I loved Bohemian yarn and sent me two balls of it!!! She's so terrific! Plus she sent me the first book in the Amelia Peabody series. I have read and re-read most of these books and I had been considering buying them as I keep checking them out from the library, so this was an absolutely perfect gift!!

Another hat

I finally got a chance to do some crocheting again today. I worked on my second attempt at a hat for my Hat Swap. I used this Pattern. I think it ended up too big, which is extremely unusual for me as I tend to crochet too tight instead of too loose! Anyway here is the end result:

Last night I finished the first hat for my Hat a week CAL. It was Dot's UBW hat. When it was all said and done it looked like this:

Looks like a giant Peppermint!! My mom loves though and has snatched it for herself this morning. Then this evening I finished Hat #1 for my Hat Swap partner. I'm not sure it is big enough. At first I thought it would be way too small, but now it is only slightly too small for me and I have a big noggin, so I am going to send it while working on another one to see if it fits or if it is too small. If it is at least one of her daughters might get a kick out of it! Here's a snap of it:

Now I'm back to the Granny Squares tonight. I have finished three of them so far using the Birthday Flower pattern. Two are decent enough to send but I would like to do a few more and see if I can get better at it.

Crochet update

It's been a busy few days!! I have now completed my second and third attempt at the granny squares. As soon as I figure out how to add pictures I will try to do that. I have also almost finished my first attempt at the hat for my hat swap partner. I'm not terribly happy with it, but hope to use it to figure out how to improve upon it.

I have so many projects lined up now I think I must be totally crazy. I bought yarn for a shrug pattern for a co-worker today and then turned around and joine the hat-a-week CAL. I think my DH may be right and I might have a bit of an obsession problem.
